ABOUT

Beni anderhalden
«For many years he has been the pulse of various pop, rock and jazz formations in Central Switzerland as a bass player. With his music project IF ANYONE CARES, Beni Anderhalden reveals his own musical soul».
Dominic Diller, SRF
As the son of a jazz drummer, he came into contact with music at an early age. After a few years on the saxophone, he switched to the electric bass at the age of 16 - and that inflamed his fire for music. Beni Anderhalden only started composing his own songs at the age of about 25, when he rediscovered an old guitar in the attic of his parents' house.
His songs are full of melancholy, which nevertheless express lightness. Mostly they are kept calm, breathing jazz, soul, latin, pop and sometimes even a pinch of rock'n'roll. Inspired from Norway to Seattle, by Torun Eriksen, Norah Jones and Sting as well as Soundgarden and Co.
A one-off concert in 2020, at which Beni presented his own music to the public for the first time, set an unstoppable ball rolling. The debut album “A slight sense of Love” was released in 2021. A calm and touching album, based on the sensitive piano playing of Nik Rindlisbacher and the beautiful voice of Regula Hasler. All nine songs from the album generated airplay, and the single “Something” is still being played on Radio Swiss Jazz.
Just one year later, in the fall of 2022, a collaboration with Bernese musician and multi-instrumentalist Andi Allenbach resulted in the soulful number “Together”. Andi was even able to convince Beni to take on the lead vocals himself for once. Like all the following singles, this one was also picked up by several radio stations.
This was followed in spring 2023 by the light, upbeat Latin pop number “I wonder”, which triggered real spring fever and even led to an appearance on TV. Then the single “Artificial Ignorance” was released in 2024. It is unlike anything previously released under the name IF ANYONE CARES. A rock number in the 90s grunge style, but with brand new content. This was finally followed by a short tour with the original album line-up of Regula Hasler (v), Nik Rindlisbacher (p), Hugo Wallimann (b,g), Kay Abegg (d) and Beni Anderhalden (g,b).
The EP “All the things” was another major release in 2025. Three acoustic pop songs that groove along smoothly and tell stories about life and getting older. As a bonus track, there is also a pumping remix of the title track “All the things”, featuring Reto Della Torre on guitar.
